I was using fdisk on Debian 2.2.  I'm afraid I probably can't upgrade it, as the 
system is seriously screwed :-( and hence I am using DemoLinux 3.0 as an over-blown 
rescue disk, to try and salvage my data (and get some work done!).

It's a damn impressive demo CD, though, I think I'll burn a copy or two and leave 
them in the CD-ROM drives at college just to confuse people ;-)
