I've been told that you need LOTS of memory for good performance. 256MB is a
good starting point. :-)

Also, if you have more than one CPU, VMWare can make make exclusive use of a
single CPU, leaving
the host OS the ret to play with. Ok, so not everyone has more than one CPU, but
it is nice to know that
there is a reason *other* than Quake 3 Arena for buying that big phat
motherboard with the extra slot...

online student version costs $99 together with a 5 meg download but the
graphics card ain't alot of good at 3d , 2d is ok eg myth2 is just about
playable but the screen update is abysmal on a 192meg scsi 433celeron
