In order to move things forward with the site, meetings and related
infrastructure, there has been some discussion on irc / Matrix on this.
Discussions included myself, mattl, shymega, noisytoot, Dan Dart
In the interest of transparency it was agreed we share what we have so
far,
Plan, which is draft at the moment
1. Replace what is at www.dcglug.org.uk with fresh content
2. New site is currently at dcglug.zleap.net (hosted by Paul (zleap)
So this is currently work in progress
3. host the new site, using content at [2] using a system yet to be agreed.
4. Looking at options for meetings, we can currently use nextcloud-talk
(hosted on a disroot account set up for the lug), but it was suggested
on IRC we also look in to jit.si, a few people mattl, dom and
noisytoot, are fsf associate members so have access to the fsf jit.si to
start meetings.
4a I think having more than one solution is good going forward.
5. Avoid bus factor by ensuring more that one person has key access to
infrastructure components.
6. We also have a Mastodon account
I have done my best to try and make a summary of what was discussed, if
I have missed something or got something wrong then it will be corrected
We feel that that:-
* a consensus that people on the list are happy with this
* it is important to get feedback
* offer a chance for others to propose ideas etc
* tap in to the skills within the group so workload / expertise can be
shared
Hope this helps
Paul
