Sorry, I know this is a bit off topic .......

Recently when using Youtube I keep getting requests to log in to my
google account. I don't have one, and do not intend to ever have one. As
for google mail, the less said the better....

It doesn't matter whether you log-in or not they know it's you from browser fingerprinting or geolocating Wi-Fi access points or if you have an Android phone or go to sites with Google Analytics or a million other things. Plus your ISP probably just sells your browsing history to them anyway. There is no escaping big brother.

I agree you can't escape it fully but you may be able to mitigate what you do share by not using these services.

Using / promoting duckduckgo, may be a small dent in their data collection but at least you are, raises awareness there are alternatives, I don't think we are alone in being concerned about all the data that is being collected.

I use the fediverse not simply because it doesn't do all that, but there are interesting people on there, same goes for the other services, the fact everything integrates together nicely is a plus too. I can follow people on peertube from Mastodon for example.
