in my system the plugins are installed by default into the 
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory from where they are symlinked into 
the firefox/plugins directory so Robin should be able to do the same 
with his newest firefox directory.

Incidentally, I have just started using Swiftfox which is a tweaked 
version of Firefox, tailored to my AMD based system and which does seem 
to work faster.
