I have had experience with several IBM laptops, and have had very few problems with them.
I was thinking about IBM, in particular the R50e I saw on ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=79464 apparently it uses the "Intel Extreme Graphics 2" chipset - I presume this is not ATI ?
