Matt does indeed have a Debian mirror - although I can't plead for what
state it is in, as I haven't done a successful install of it for a
while, but it was last seen in his Office/Kitchen propped up against a
wall, running rsync once a day.

The total mirror size for x86 Debian (free software only) was around
20GB, this will still takes days to mirror on a typical consumer
broadband connection.

My experience of the various "proxy" tools is that they are troublesome
- - either stick with squid and configure it to cache big files (which can
be troublesome in itself) or go with a proper mirror would be my advice.

You can always ask Matt nicely....
