There is some justification (IMO);  Snap installs a complete suite of
software and support packages which is (mostly) isolated from the rest
of your system.   You end up with multiple linked libraries;  Nothing is
shared, so anything that requires (say) libc has to include it.  That
means multiple copies of libc.  Now, if somebody finds a bug in libc,
you now have multiple copies of libc to be concerned about - are they
all the same?  Are they different and if so, which ones are affected by
the bug?  Are all the different dev teams aware of the bug?  Will they
work in a timely fashion to address the issue?

Now look at any distro;  libc has a bug.  Dev team for distro fix it.
All packages on your system that use libc are fixed at once.  You still
have the proactivity issue of course....

TL;DR 
Remove Snap packages.
