So, nearly 2023. Time for a rant. Two come to mind.
Browsers. Every one I have tried does this. Close the last or only tab
and it will just shut down the whole program. Why??? There are already
three ways to shut down the browser. I don't need yet another. And
anyway, when I close the last tab it just means that I have finished
with that particular item and now wish to move on to something else.
It does NOT mean that I have finished with the browser completely.
OK, so I can fix it via about:config, but that should not be
necessary. I do wonder sometimes if some of these developers really
belong on planet earth.
No 2 will follow later, unless I get shot down in flames for this one,

Security.
Closing last tab, closing browser means it is quick way to close browser
from passing eyes.[Note 1]
I have habit if I want browser open, first to open a tab to a DuckDuckGo
page, then do my browsing
so closing useful tabs leaves browser open at a DuckDuckGo enquiry page.
[Note 1] much preferred in industry I worked in , rather than alternate
solutions such as lock screen.
Regards and best wishes for a healthy New Year
