Anyone here in a position of setting up a small country's mobile network on the cheap?

While Huawei are dodgy (who isnt at that level) noone has actually come up with any real evidence that it is compromised, it seems all about protectionism.

Suppression of compromises is likely, given the scale and risk of these. Not every ecosystem publishes details of public exploits, especially on critical infrastructure where patching opportunities are not always baked in and the risk of exposing details might well break NDA disclosures between both provider and client. The bottom line is that we don't know the details, nor will we ever. The technical risks could be small or huge, we won't know.

And legally, if you continued to use this equipment in any facility after the deadline and your government has said it's unsafe, if you do get exposed to any threat, you're going to find it very difficult to justify your position.

Sorry, but I just don't see any justifiable reason to continue to use this kit in this situation, even you think it is only a political decision.
