Hey all. I'm trying to get my CV going again for job hunting, and my current CV is using the ModernCV class, but I'm finding it a bit heavy, and I'd prefer something simple and compact. No flashy things... I store my current CV in a Git repository, which I branch from the template to various job applications, customise, and write a cover letter. Then I commit.I suppose my question is, does anyone here use a template *other than*`moderncv`, or have any advice/tips for a custom CV layout? One may ask: why TeX? It's primarily because I find the control I get over my documents is so flexible - its also why I used it at college - and that I can commit the sources to my Git repository. It's not on GitHub, as it has my address ;)Cheers!
Hi Dom I am using the Scismic CV template https://www.overleaf.com/latex/templates/scismics-recommended-cv-template-for-biotech-and-pharma-jobs/hbnkjrjnnpjzGranted it is meant for biotech jobs, it does, however have all the sections needed, e.g personal statement, skills, experience, education etc.
I recently asked for some advice on my CV and was informed it was really good, in terms of information, layout etc.
There are two parts to this as there is a .sty file that runs along side the main document main.tex.
