Re: [LUG] Laptop to TV

Holy *** folks, I know I've been scolded a few times for this .. but can we agree on some basic ML etiquette .. this thread is a perfect example of being impossible to follow the 'conversation' because each person replies at opposite ends of the message. So PLEASE, can we either agree collectively to BOTTOM-POST as it customary on Mailing Lists or TOP-POST as in default email clients. You will find you can change (Even per recipient in good clients!!) whether Replies come BEFORE or AFTER in your client settings. Thanks...

Have you tried plugging it in the other way round? Shouldn’t make any difference but this once solved a similar issue for me.

Well, I bought the cable last week, so can I assume that it is suitable? How can I tell? It is marked as a high speed HDMi cable.

To add, I don't think there is a wiring pin-out difference between HDMI v1 and v2, I just think there is better shielding / signal to noise on v2 cables.
"High Speed" _should_ be OK on a 4K TV.

Your problem might be something specific to MX Linux then, which I don't have any experience with.

Stating the bleeding obvious here, but have you tried all of the input selections on your TVs remote control?
Have you tried the presentation options on your laptop - I think the function key with 4 or F4 does it? (Should have an icon on the physical key)
