That is not correct.There are some Linux distributions that have stated that they will never use systemd and some that have been created explicitly to not use systemd.
So you still have choice. Using that choice is up to you. I have chosen to use Devuan for now.Devuan is a non-systemd linux disturbution. It started as a 100% Debian clone with the systemd stuff removed, but has now started to drift slightly. For me it was utterly trivial to make work because I have used Debian since before it was first released and my last Debian system didn't use anything that actually needed systemd, (e.g. Gnome), so migrating was easy.
I'm running it on my desktop, laptop and servers, router/firewall and Raspberry Pi's It's nice to have choice. And there is lots of choice out there if you want a Unix like operating system, such as FreeBSD and so on.
