All good advice but first things first, make a proper diagnosis. User 
report seemed a big vague so if you're lucky on closer inspection there 
won't be anything wrong with it.

Cheap (£20) 120Gb SSD is a no-brainer though, you can always find 
another use for it somewhere else either way.
