Thanks for the replies and apologies for the delay in responding...
I have had a look in the bios and cannot find any advanced settings that might allow me to change the fan controls.
I have a version of windows installed on the machine (used it to scan for viruses...!!)
Is there a generic Windows software to tweak fans.sensors etc?
The machine came from PC Specialists and I guess I was trying to shave a little off the cost by not buying more RAM... on the case with that one- which brings in another question- do you get what you pay for with branded modules or will a cheap one do?!
