I use the WEB interface to my ancient HP multi function thing, or locally
scan to SD/USB by pushing buttons on the device.
However, today, a smart phone with a camera is a scanner and there are
dozens of apps (in addition to google,apple) to facilitate this and do the
rotation thing, etc. although this only works well if the documents lie
flat in the first place.
