Hi AllI have been actively getting my digital life in order. I am beginning to get better and better and can actually see an end to the tunnel. So I wanted to tell everyone where I am at the moment, what I have achieved and the next steps.
I have set up a NextCloud server and have started using it to store files that I need daily, run email when I need a web service and I will now be storing passwords etc. It is already running my calendar and contacts. I feel liberated!
But now I am turning towards my server particularly since Eion pointed out how fragile it was. He also pointed out the dangers of sync - thanks Eion. So I am now fully backed up to a second internal disk and one external disk, which is stored in my house! Yes I know... I'll store it in work when I return.
So the second part was sharing. Not so much docs, more media to a Mac Laptop, Ubuntu laptop and phones and tablets. I was going to look up how to build a dnla server. Could someone offer pointers please?
Many thanks for listening and the continued help over the last few months. I have 2 lots of Pi books and magazines. Does anybody want them please?
