So I downloaded it, installed it and so far I am well pleased.Some of my addons which no longer worked in FF 57 are still OK. One of the ones that I missed was FireFTP which is no longer available in FF. It is still there and working in WFox. Also, I can have my tab bar below the other bars, which for me is where it should be. It is also very fast.
I should mention that the first time I ran it, it offered to copy across my profile, bookmarks etc from FF, which was very useful.
So, those people who liked the previous version of FF, have a look at it, see what you think. I think there is a ppa somewhere, but I downloaded /opt/waterfox-55.2.2.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2, moved it to the opt directory and installed it with tar. Don't worry about the US bit, it is easy to change the locale under Edit/preferences.
