[LUG] Connecting to USB pi-zero

I got this working on my old Xubuntu machine but on the new one cant remember how it worked proper like.

I have a pi-zero which has been changed so when pluugged in to a USB on a PC it shows up as a network connected device

I've tried ssh to just about every combination of the above addresses/hostnames (with -4 or -6 etc) but no luck - nothing resolves

What have I forgotted?
