Re: [LUG] bad: scheduling from the idle thread

Hmm....
Liquorix, looks interesting.

The board flashing comes plastered with dire warnings.

I can see the attraction of moving from BIOS 1 to BIOS 5

Ugh, I've chased errors oddly similar to this round for days before:
slightly different kernel error messages but specifically related to
"associated with moving the edge of a frame of eg Iceweasel -->
Firefox-esr or Gimp in the Gnome desktop with the (USB) mouse". Ended up
really going down the rabbit hole to bugzillas and stack traces and the
problem never got properly fixed.

As others recommended, I'd try a different kernel - specifically, try
the Liquorix kernel which is basically an optimised Debian workstation
build:

https://liquorix.net/

I know it says "sid" in the repo file but don't worry about that - I
tend to use it on all my Debian systems, including stable.

Cheers

* Also looks like your Gigabyte board is a rev 1 rather than rev 2, and
is still running the very first released BIOS flash. I'd update that to
the latest, just as a matter of course:
