Ended up really going down the rabbit hole to bugzillas and stack traces and the problem never got properly fixed. As others recommended, I'd try a different kernel - specifically, try the Liquorix kernel which is basically an optimised Debian workstation build: https://liquorix.net/ I know it says "sid" in the repo file but don't worry about that - I tend to use it on all my Debian systems, including stable. Cheers * Also looks like your Gigabyte board is a rev 1 rather than rev 2, and is still running the very first released BIOS flash. I'd update that to the latest, just as a matter of course: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3882#bios -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG https://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
