Re: [LUG] ISPs/BT problems in Newton Abbot

Read the replies here, and I think Gordon's the most accurate.

If your adsl is rubbish and it's unlikely to improve, try these guys.

I use them at home. ADSL is 2mbit. These chaps deliver 30mbit for not a lot of money. I'm extremely happy with the arrangement. Â(Been on since before xmas)

Hiya, apologies for butting in on an existing thread as a 'newbie'...

Has she checked what speeds she should be expecting on:-

I, personally, have had no issues with Plusnet on both consumer and
business contracts as far as the technical side goes, but hear endless
stories about problems with BT (both personal and business).
Myself, I just switched from a cheap contract with the Post Office with
poor contention on a 8Mbit ADSL line, to Fibre broadband with plusnet,
which works pretty well at ~40Mbit!

Also, you need to be mindful of your equipment .. is the router good,
and if you're using wireless for access, is it struggling with local
interference from neighbouring properties?! I had a classic case of
moving one router slightly made a marked improvement to my wireless link
at home!

Sorry, that's probably a little more than 2c, but hope it may help. Any
queries, I'll do my best to answer :}

Michael.
