Regret, no help here as this instruction 'guidance' is disregarded by
HMRC as well. Adobe needed to print P60s and other forms from HMRC site,
as they are locked into Adobe Acrobat and only a copy of Adobe Reader
(their specified version!) will suffice you fill in the on line form or
rather they fill it in but it is printable and downloadable to their
store and your computer as a normal PDF file.
I have never managed to get HMRC  program ( PAYE stuff) work on Linux
although they  provide  'Linux Version'
