Then, frankly, they're doomed;  As has been said elsewhere, XP is no
longer supported.  Any and all current exploits will be forever
available.  IOW, as soon as you've cleaned the machine and it gets
reconnected to the 'net it's only a matter of time before it becomes
infected again.

Only because that will cost more than you doing their service contract
for free.

BA is right - despite his vitriolic tirade - the only safe thing to do
is kill XP and install something else that *does* have support.
