Dear All,Just to say the new HP file store server is down at the Ark and has had its second 250Gb HDD fitted so it can be setup as a RAIDed server. It has not yet been switched on.
The HP server Rob was working on last time is also in the office.I have NOT run any extra network cables for the servers as yet since we are not quite sure where we would like them to be. In the short term Harri will clear a space for them and it will not be too hard to run leads straight to the network cabinet.
There should be 2 network printers up and running by the time you come.A Samsung netowrk colour laster (192.168.1.2) and an HP mono- network printer for bigger print runs. IP address not yet set.
The 4 old servers have been disposed of. Once I had them in pieces to go to the scrapman it was clear they all suffered from the swollen capacitor problem.
The PC we put in the classroom has been moved into the main hall.As I mentioned in the last email there is the old Dell colour laser that needs a new home. By the end of Friday it needs either to be off on its way to the new home, or agreement that I can give it away.
I hope all of that is OK.I can't be there this time as I am taking the youth club to an event, but I hope to see you soon.
