Same wires from your house to the exchange. same BT Wholesale carrier. DIFFERENT ISP.And that's where IMO most of the issues lie. Not all ISPs are the same. Some have contended internal networks, some (well one) have zero contention (AAISP). The rest are in-between and this is what you're really paying for.
Sad you're stuck in a contract. Why did you sign up for a 1-year contract in the first place? None of the quality ISPs insist on anything more than a month.
