[LUG] OT : Android phone crashing

Apologies for this being slightly off-topic, but then, Android is Linux-based and a solution that would point me to helpful error logs would be a good start.

I have had an HTC Desire C since December. It's a nice little phone, that I'm quite pleased it.

Except it crashes. A lot. The screen goes black and nothing happens - though I've become suspicious something is still happening as it has been sending out a wi-fi signal in this state, and the battery seems to be in use.

Sometimes it then reboots itself, at other times I have to remove the battery to reboot it.

But in either case, there is an alert

"Service Update: there is a new configuration"

which I thought would be a good place to start my search. Except that there are no relevant hits on Google.

I've spoken to Vodafone about this. They thought it may have been related to the SIM card and sent me a new one, but that didn't solve the problem.

Any thoughts?

Martijn.
