Subject: [LUG] Weather geeking
Don't know if anyone else is geeky about the weather, but a couple of
weeks ago I set up a Lacross ws-2350 weather station on my log shed
here on the eastern side of Dartmoor.
Physically it's a little lightweight and in
testing was not that
reliable but since installed it has been totally reliable. I did my
research first and Davis was recommended as the manufacturer of
choice, but blowed if I was going to spend £300 on a station and
almost £300 on a cable to connect it to a PC, so I bought this for
£100.
I'm using wview on debian on my loft server to do the logging. Works
well, but the default template was very messy and not to my taste at
all, so I spent an evening re-doing the templates and now have
something I'm not too embarrassed about showing off!
