Laptops are not an issue. Can you give us some more information on the issue e.g is it a fresh install did this problem start perhaps after upgrading to 12.04 ? in the latter case you may want to check to see which codecs etc have been removed during upgrade. Look under additional drivers. Failing that if no one else can help or suggest things. I am planning on holding the June meeting at Paignton cricket club as that should allow people to bring PC's in to the venue easier. Where are you based ? hope this helps.
