Some of you may remember a recent thread where I had found out, after six years, that my printer had a USB port as well as a parallel one. I have now moved over to using the USB port and it works very well. I haven't tested it but I get the feeling that it runs a bit faster now. However, there is one surprising outcome, to me anyway. I use a utility called mtink to check how much ink is still left in the cartridges. Previously it regularly came up with silly error messages such as being out of paper when it wasn't. I often had to run it 5, 6 or even more times before it would suddenly work. Now, using the USB port, it works first time every time. Weird. Computers, don't you love them!!
