Seems to be a hot toppic...

A local place I'm doing some contract IT work for has just bought a new
printer - it's a Lexmark (something) Multi function device. Ethernet
(and USB) connections. (and I think it's got a fax modem built in too)
It does scanning and copying as well as printing. I'm told by one of the
Ubuntu users that it seems to just work for him, and Win7 sees it on the
network OK. The scanner part scans to email or FTP, and you can use the
web interface to it to program in your email addresses, then select via
a menu on the device itself. (which just has a silly little keypad, so
entering an email address via the web itnerface is much better!)

It's a 4-colour laser printer too.

Cost was £175.

Which I'm well annoyed with as we've just spend £110 for a new single
colour toner cartridge for the old HP... I suspect I'll simply buy one
of these when it needs another toner...

Sounds like the one I got for Westomatic when I was there, was a bit more though at £275 ish, but I was quite impressed, well until it started failing on duplexing after a week, but the support wasn't bad and it got fixed fairly quickly.

If I was in the market for another device I'd certainly consider a Lexmark laser printer, can't remember how much the toners were for it though.
