aka: GUID Partition TypesNeeded if you want a partition > 2TB. Seems to be repacing ye olde MS-DOS type partitions anyway. The Debian squeeze picked it by default when I gave it a 3TB drive to play with.
Seems to work in Debian Squeeze... and gnu-fdisk is a usable text-based tool to manipulate them too. (replaces cfdisk & fdisk)
