[LUG] Cannot delete files

Trying to delete some files on an ogg player and can't

Steps taken

    # mount -t vfat /dev/sdc nok

    # cd nok/T60/music

    # ls -laFh
    total 6.5M
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root  24K Sep  3 09:25 ./
    drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4.0K Jan  1  1970 ../
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1.7M Sep  3 07:53 Side14-24.ogg*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 2.3M Sep  3 07:53 Side14-25.ogg*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1.8M Sep  3 07:53 Side15-01.ogg*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 776K Sep  3 07:53 Side15-02.ogg*

    # chmod +w *ogg

    # rm -rf *ogg

    rm: cannot remove `Side14-24.ogg': Read-only file system

    rm: cannot remove `Side15-01.ogg': Read-only file system
    rm: cannot remove `Side15-02.ogg': Read-only file system

First time I have come across this problem, any help much appreciated
