Re: [LUG] Shared Calendars?

Anyone know what the current "best" webby based shared calendar type of application is?

Something that can synchronise with a mobile device would be nice, but not strictly necessary at this point. I used something called "WebCal" some years back, but wondering if there is something else.

Google is probably an option, but I don't want to sign email, website, etc. over to google at this point - and it needs to work on a hosted server rather than a google server...

Basically I have a group of 12 people working from all over the place with their own hosted server which runs their own email and specialist web stuff and they want to carry on using it but add some sort of shared calendar service to it. They have a mix of iPhones and android phones.

(And hosted exchange isn't an option either ;)

Any clues welcome!

Gordon
Citadel works for me [www.citadel.org] but I like Open Business Manager more [obm.org] and will probably migrate to that in the future.

Both work with Thunderbird/Lightning. I understand Outlook connectors are available. The various Funambol server/client software works well for smartphone integration.

Both are whole groupware solutions (ie. do email too) so might not be ideally suited as a Calendar "plugin".
