It will work in Wine but you need the older version of the installer. A rar is available here:- http://ifile.it/tq05bk4Before you install to make it work run winecfg from a terminal and add the application KindleForPc.exe click open and then make sure its set to run as a win98 app.
Now go to where ever you extracted the installer and run it...Without setting it to run as a win98 app you wont be able to see the login screen. Enter your amazon name and password and you should be good to go....
