Seeing the posts about ebooks from Torbay library I looked at what we could access and epub format seemed a good idea. The easiest way to read it seemed to be through the epub add-on to Firefox. I have to say, I've never had much luck with firefox add-ons. And sure enough, this was no exception, it hung there waiting for Mozilla before timing out. Tried again and got to install which eventually came up with error message 228, cache disabled, but it wasn't. This is in Firefox 3.5 in Mepis 8, Debian based and my firewall is switched off. I've googled the problem and tried various things to no avail. Then I tried my laptop which currently has Mint xfce with firefox 3.6. epub add-on installed no problem. I don't think it is a firefox version thing and I can't see any difference in the preferences of the 2 versions. Any thoughts? Has anyone used the library service yet with any format?
