When I installed steam on XP it hung twice for quite a while during install but on Ubuntu it didn't. I suppose I should have said it works equally well on either system.

Some programs do work better on Linux. I used to get far better fps and less random dc's while playing Warcraft while using wine.

So you mean it installs faster, with a minimum of fuss? I don't see how installing windoze stuff is better than the way windozee does it.
