While I care little for iTunes, there is plenty of non-free, closed source software already under Linux - some of it costing millions of dollars in licensing fees!

Some years back some of the big chip design/layout and simulation packages moved from Sun through HP and onto Linux - I looked after some 64-bit multi-core AMD machines with 64GB of RAM some 4-5 years back...

Rhythmbox does the job just fine. If you're on Ubuntu they have the Ubuntu one music store integrated into Rhythmbox. If you want to buy cheap non drm mp3s then play.com is 10p a track cheaper than anyone else.
