Hi
Just a quick question, how many people do you think you have all converted from MS to Linux? And then how many people have moved back??  What was the reason for them moving back?

I'm just interested as out of all my installs, the ones that wanted MS back all wanted one thing... Itunes!

There are 15 people around the Holsworthy area that I've now got to run Linux, was 18 but the 3 all went back dues to Itunes... The thing is out of the 15 that are still using Linux, about 12 of them said that they would use it if Apple released a Linux version... Apple are losing out me thinks!

How many installs have you all done that have "stuck" and which ones haven't?

Only my girlfriend and my mum. My mum didn't know anything about computers when I started her on Ubuntu Netbook so that was good fun seeing how easy it was for a first timer to learn. My girlfriend found the switch very easy and advocates Ubuntu now. I installed Ubuntu at work and haven't had any issues and I also have CentOS on our work server.

I had a problem yesterday. A friend (who hates computers) asked if he should upgrade to Windows 7 because his laptop was running slow. It was difficult to give advice as I'm not sure someone who hates computers would understand Linux. On the flip side he wouldn't have to ditch it and fork out hundreds of pounds for a new laptop. He's sending his laptop over so we'll see what happens from there.

I do have Windows XP on a small partition to play ArmA2 and Operation Flashpoint but I didn't pay for it (got if off someone downgrading to Vista).
