Although they have something to sell.

I think their presentation is somewhat simplistic and thus underplays
the role of better antennas.

I know the guy who lived behind me use to wonder why he got better
reception from my wifi router than his with two gardens, two external
walls, and some trees in the way. Simple answer - antenna in the middle
of my upstairs window sill (as they say the signal goes through glass
better than most other stuff), even with 50cm odd lead from antenna to
wireless card.

The rule of thumb for antenna is 6db gain doubles your range, best
approach is good antenna on each end.

A lot depends what the house is made off.
