-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Further to the previous thread, going off slightly it mentions birmingham council another post to the ubuntu list revealed this It's interesting that the document mentions Birmingham City Council's forays into the Linux desktop. I wrote about this some time ago: http://www.justuber.com/blog/2006/11/20/how-to-spend-half-a-million-on-free-software/ Only here in the UK can we end up spending so much on free software, It does seem however that denmark has gone a step further and adopted odf, more importantly they have been far more assertive then the UK government and got on with it, If I find the article i will post its on ubuntu-uk somewhere. Also seems that franch is going to adopt odf, aparently 7 ministers turned up to the presentation on OOXML by microsoft. It seems odd that we claim to be leading the world with technology and yet the government are dithering so much when the rest of the world are clearly going ahead of us.
