Further to the previous thread, going off slightly it mentions
birmingham council

another post to the ubuntu list revealed this

It's interesting that the document mentions Birmingham City Council's
forays into the Linux desktop. I wrote about this some time ago:

Only here in the UK can we end up spending so much on free software,

It does seem however that denmark has gone a step further and adopted
odf,  more importantly they have been far more assertive then the UK
government and got on with it,

If I find the article i will post its on ubuntu-uk somewhere.

Also seems that franch is going to adopt odf,  aparently 7 ministers
turned up to the presentation on OOXML by microsoft.

It seems odd that we claim to be leading the world with technology and
yet the government are dithering so much when the rest of the world are
clearly going ahead of us.
