Hi folks,I was just thinking today about USB to DVI adaptors and how it might be worth investing in one so I can use my laptop at a desk and only have to plug in 2 cables for power, video, audio etc. I wasn't sure if these USB devices were supported on Linux. Funnily enough I came across this...
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=NzkyOQIt's a short news item with video about a company who are running 9 USB displays (I gather they are 7" touch screen displays) on a Mac Mini running Ubuntu 9.10.
I'm not sure if the technology is the same as what is used in the USB to DVI adaptors, but I do remember seeing before Christmas a digital photo frame which could be used as a monitor via USB, so I wonder if this might be the same chipset. It supposedly runs an open source driver too.
