Out of interest, recently I had an urge to put a couple of disto
reviews on the Wiki but didn't as I wasn't sure if it was worth
hanging on until I get a login account for the Drupal site.

Distro reviews are highly structured on the current site and that code
won't be ported to Drupal. (It's horribly out of date and problematic
behind the scenes.) An ordinary wiki page containing a distro review
would eventually be ported to Drupal as Drupal makes our current wiki
obsolete.

If it's only going to be say a week then I'll probably put something
together on the laptop and post it when I get a login account.

It depends on how much time I'm left with during the relocation to
Cambridge etc.
Fair enough, I've been busy with other things myself. If I get a new laptop battery I could make use of my time on the bus journey home from Exeter, all 3.5 hours of it today. I don't half feel for those poor folks who got stuck on Haldon.
Does the new Drupal site support uploading of images too (I'm
thinking things like screen shots)?

The maximum upload size is 1 MB. Only files with the following
extensions may be uploaded: jpg jpeg gif png txt doc xls pdf ppt pps
odt ods odp.

Ahh, I dare say I could fit a screen shot into less than a meg easily using JPG or PNG (most likely PNG).
As far as I am aware the wiki is staying up, but I guess will
eventually get linked to by the drupal site,

The Wiki is to be replaced by drupal6 - the wiki code is as outdated
and unmaintainable as the rest of the old site. The new way would be to
create a book of Distribution Reviews and then add content to that
book.
Sounds good.
If of course the drupal site does support pictures, that may be a
better option.

It will - just enabled the Upload module.

Great.
I would guess we can cross link the two.

I intend to move the old site once drupal6 becomes the "top-level" -
i.e. what we have now would be dcglug.org.uk/old/ and what is now
dcglug.org.uk/drupal6 gets promoted to dcglug.org.uk/

In doing so, dcglug.org.uk/old/members will be disabled, making the
current Wiki read-only. This is because the current Wiki "source" is
not compatible with Drupal (or any CMS). The main requirement would be
to fix URL links (where the description of the link is not the URL
itself). The confusing 2-column formatting of the current wiki will go
away.

I'm looking forward to using this new Drupal site, I guess it might be good to actually read up a bit about it.
