On the flip side, when I was a kid a GameBoy Colour (Pikachu edition mind) cost £99 and for that I got some retro tunes and some collections of large pixels which looked somewhat like fat people. Nowadays for that money I can get a 22" display or a graphics card that'll make things look darned close to real, maybe a quad core CPU or some speakers (+amp) good enough to blow my brains out. Frankly, I'd rather pay an extra 50-70p for chips and have my brains blown out than live back in the days of 8 bit sound.

Yep when I wur a lad, I could get a portion of chips for about 75p and a can of pop for about 30p, and 512KB was more than enough.
