-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi I know this is probably going to be an awkward issue, but is there a chance of being able to give the lug site a makeover, looking at it right now it does not say much about the actual lug, that would appeal to anyone out side the lug. I think Neil williams is currently maintaining this and is quite busy, perhaps if a few of us came up with something it takes the pressure off neil and actually helps the lug a little. Perhaps we can use a content management system, such as joomla, (can this work with a wiki) then members could edit pages and upload content easily, as well as still perhaps having access to a wiki, which i am not sure if anyone reads let alone updates (apart from me to update the meetings page). Could we also perhaps have advertising banners on the site, sold cheaply to cover hosting / domain costs and perhaps fund room hire for events or costs of gazebos for when we are at out door events. Looking at other lug sites, this caught my eye, http://www.tyneside.lug.org.uk/news.php partly as they are also 10 years old this, year and got some free magazines, I wonder if we can get the same. the import thing about their site is that 1 they tell visitors to the site who they are, and also give information on meetings on the main page. I think we need to appeal to a wider audiance.
