I'm actually wondering whether it may be due to the way my devices are connected - I've a hard drive on one ata lead and two cds (one v old) on the other and I bet the termination is all to cock. In bios it recognises the hard drive and then goes looking for the master on the other cable and I normally hit f4 to skip or am in the kitchen brewing up so its all running when I get in. If I dont hit f4 it boots before I can see whats happening so maybe I'll take a screwdriver to it!
