I agree with this, I used to get this a lot where I used to work.  I 
ended up putting a stop to it by asking everyone to e-mail them to me 
first, if they were genuine I would get someone higher up to send them 
out, and if they were hoaxes 9 times out of 10 they were I would let the 
person know and point them in the direction of the Hoax Slayer site or 
at least advise them to try searching for text from the e-mail on 
Google.  I had one yesterday as a matter of fact about a missing girl in 
the states, turns out it was genuine but it was a version of an original 
e-mail which was sent out and it was missing a whole load of information.
