Big, yes, but when you can only place satellites in a limited number of
places, because to put them anywhere else required to much power to get
and keep them there, it (space) gets a lot smaller.
It's like aircraft; The chances of two colliding in mid-air are so
remote as to be negligible. Therefore, the CAA force aircraft to use
specific corridors, massively increasing collision chances, and thereby
justifying the existence of the CAA.
I love circular arguments.
