All this is fine as long as people have a ) heard of GNU/Linux and b) have not been told or been exposed to the FUD surrounding it, In terms of promotion I am looking at people being able to see it in action (PC's with say ubuntu installed), so they can look, use, ask questions to those with the PC's and get a good feel for what is available and the support available. This would be aimed at developers, so we need to get through to end users, who will then demand applications etc, who can then turn to us, we can then say to developers use things like android to satisfy the demand for linux related tools All this is guesswork,. but we need to look at the end user, I am an end user, so am in a good position to try and promote what ubuntu or whatever is like on the desktop.
