Ah the PIC. A fun processor. I've not used one for a while, but the assembler 
is very straightforward. My application didn't merit using C, and the device 
(16C84 if I remember correctly) had a miniscule stack. I have a programmer 
around somewhere that you could borrow if needed.

I was probably using it on a M$ dev platform as it was around 10 years ago. 
The PIC was old even then. What is your application?
